2011 – All change please!

Okay all, here goes my first official blog of 2011 – I’m just jumping right in with this blog thing from here on. There’s loads of stuff from 2010 to blog about and new stuff planned for 2011 that should be interesting to talk about.

2010 saw me deciding to refresh the look and feel of my business (I was sort of looking to do so from way back in 2009) so I attended a few courses – some good and some a waste of time (and good money – don’t want to get started on that right now) but in all a lot was learned along the way (some good, some bad and some really ugly stuff…..) and some of that is being integrated into my work process. Those who know me already know that apart from wedding work I’m generally a studio based photographer, but that is changing and from this year I will be offering location portraiture – so I took time out last year to get my hands dirty trying out a few ideas and found that I really loved the buzz and adrenaline rush from shooting out of the studio (so many things are happening all at once – fighting the elements, the heightened security situation in the UK is creating a regime of dictates) simply put, it’s very akin to shooting a wedding but with extra highs.

2011 is going to be quite exciting and I’m well strapped in for the ride – it’s promising to be wild, fast and furious – and I like it already. To sign off, I would like to leave you with a quick look at David’s baby shoot from 2010. I did his parents Kemi and Chris’s wedding just the year before, the blog for that will come later in the year (Kemi’s family are old clients of mine) and Chris’s family have also become my clients along the way too. It’s so wonderful to have clients who believe in you and patronise you again and again. Thanks guys – you rock!
