Chief Chuka Odom is the Federal Minister for Housing of Nigeria and the next in the line up of remarkable people I have photographed. The first picture of the three I show here hangs in the ministry head office building in Abuja. I did not meet him through any intermediary whatsoever, he just turned up at my studio having been informed by someone he knew who knew of my work to get his photos done by me whilst on a visit to London. I did not know who he was when I did the shoot as he did not have a retinue of helpers to confuse the day. He did not at any point try to impress me by letting slip he was someone very important. A friend called me from Nigeria to tell me that he just saw my work hanging at the ministry offices.
